Of all the things Chromebooks are unique for (security, simplicity, speed), one of the more visually striking things about all Chromebooks is right underneath your fingertips (if you are using a Chromebook right now) and you've likely never noticed it. From the very first CR-48 prototype Chromebook … [Read more...] about The curious ‘case’ of the lowercase Chromebook keyboard

Although you can use a Chromebook for basic video editing, there is no denying that … [Read more...] about Why I generally pick up my Chromebook, not my MacBook
New Chromebook ‘Xol’ emerges with an Assistant Key built in
I know, I know: it's basically impossible not to draw a few conclusions from that headline. I'm fighting the same instincts as I write these words, but I can't deny what I've stumbled upon this morning, and I can't 100% tell you that what we're all thinking isn't true. But I also don't have proof … [Read more...] about New Chromebook ‘Xol’ emerges with an Assistant Key built in
If I didn’t run a Chromebook website, I’d still use a Chromebook
Is that title up there a given? Of course I'm going to say that I would use a Chromebook with or without Chrome Unboxed being a thing. Wait, I think Linus Tech Tips is pro-Chromebook now
I get it. Chromebooks aren't for everyone. This much is quite clear. Just the other day in a business I won't mention (because the work they did for me was fantastic in the end), I had a conversation with a younger person who is clearly a tech-minded individual. The work they were doing for me … [Read more...] about Wait, I think Linus Tech Tips is pro-Chromebook now

Check out the Material You overhaul in the ChromeOS settings app
ChromeOS still has a few holdout areas where the latest Material You look and feel hasn't quite made its mark. How to force your Chromebook into the tablet mode UI
In preparation for a post I'm working on, I really needed a device that meets a few, specific parameters. First, I needed it to at least be a convertible, and second, I needed it to have the new 12th-gen Intel Core i3-N305. Unfortunately, I don't think that Chromebook exists just yet, and even if … [Read more...] about How to force your Chromebook into the tablet mode UI
Playing Call of Duty: Warzone on a $149 Chromebook is still awesome
The other day, I hopped into a match of Call of Duty: Warzone just to hone my skills a bit, and to my surprise, I actually played quite well. I've been playing mobile games so much and rely so heavily on gyro aiming at this point that I've become largely useless when it comes to mouse/keyboard or … [Read more...] about Playing Call of Duty: Warzone on a $149 Chromebook is still awesome
