We’ve been anticipating the launch of Ubisoft+ – Ubisoft’s uPlay+ rebranding – on Stadia for quite some time now. Initially, we speculated that Google and Ubisoft would announce it during their October event, but when that didn’t happen, we went and dug around on their website. What we found was direct verbiage that stated that the service would launch on the cloud gaming platform before the end of the year and, oh, boy, did they cut it close! With just two weeks before we can all put 2020 far, far behind us, Ubisoft+ is now starting to roll out in the United States and Stadia gamers can start setting it up.

Ubisoft+ allows you to gain access to a large library of Ubi’s titles both old and new, including games like Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla as well as currently unreleased games (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, anyone?) for just $15 per month. What’s unique about the service’s launch on Stadia is that you can subscribe to it and play without even paying for Stadia Pro! Keep in mind that Google’s gaming platform is completely free to use – something that’s often overlooked.

Of course, if you want 4K, HDR, and 60 FPS on your Ubisoft titles, you will need to subscribe to Stadia Pro, but it’s still just optional. The free version of Stadia gives you 1080p and if you buy a one-off Ubisoft title (or any other game), you can still play it in good quality and have plenty of fun too. Don’t forget that you’ll also get access to 30+ Stadia Pro games, so it may be worth it to consider stacking both subscriptions to get way more games!

Ubisoft+ also gives you access to all of the DLC that each game has to offer without paying a dime outside of your subscription cost, so it’s a pretty sweet deal for those who haven’t already purchased almost all of their titles on Stadia prior to its launch (What? I couldn’t wait!). I’m the kind of person who would rather own one or two of their games and sink tons of time into them than to pay a monthly subscription cost and possibly have months where I don’t even play. Then again, I’m doing that with Stadia Pro and I could just cancel my Ubisoft+ subscription one month and pick it back up again the next. What’s important is that we now have plenty of choices!

I’m actually quite excited to see more services like this utilize Stadia’s cloud infrastructure to deliver their offerings in the near future. If you’d like to see a full list of Ubisoft+ games that come with your subscription, you can find them here. All you’ll need to do to get started is to link your Ubisoft+ account (or create one) using the button below. If you get an error, that’s because the service is rolling out between today and December 17th. You can keep checking back on this article to click the button if you’re interested. What are your thoughts on Ubisoft+? Will you be adding yet another subscription service to the pressure on your wallet? Let us know below and as always, happy gaming!
