We finally have a firm date and time! After teasing its new ultra-slim smartphone back in January and showing it off at a couple of events, Samsung will formally unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge during a virtual Unpacked event on Monday, May 12th, at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT. While Samsung’s announcement confirms a few key details, we’ll have to tune in on Monday for the full picture, including that all-important price and availability.
Samsung isn’t being shy about this one; the blog post accompanying the Unpacked announcement explicitly names the Galaxy S25 Edge and makes some bold claims, stating it “not only sets a new standard for what you can achieve with your smartphone, but it also unlocks a new era of growth for the mobile industry.”
Samsung is also packing some serious hardware into the S25 Edge. They’ve confirmed it will feature a 200-megapixel main camera, just like the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra. This means that the Edge is aiming for a premium spot in the market, promising “flagship-level performance with superior portability.”
Samsung also says that mobile AI will play a significant role in enhancing the camera experience, from capturing to editing and sharing, turning the camera into a “smart lens.”
Snag a $50 Credit with a no-obligation reservation
As they’ve done with other recent launches, Samsung has its reservation system open right now. If you’re even mildly curious about the Galaxy S25 Edge, you can head over to Samsung’s website and sign up with your name and email. Doing so gets you a $50 credit that you can use towards accessories or anything else on Samsung.com if you decide to purchase the S25 Edge once all details are revealed. There’s no cost to reserve and no obligation to buy, so it’s essentially free money if you end up picking up the phone.
But the big question remains: what’s the price tag going to be? And, perhaps more importantly for many, when and where will it actually be available, especially considering earlier rumors hinted at a potentially delayed launch in the US? We’re eager to get those answers. Thankfully, the wait isn’t much longer. We’ll be covering all the news from Samsung’s Unpacked event on Monday, so stay tuned!
