The future of spatial computing for Android is almost here. Samsung is gearing up to officially reveal its highly anticipated Android extended reality (XR) headset, codenamed “Project Moohan,” during a special livestream event today, Monday, October 21st, at 10 p.m. ET. And this isn’t just another gadget launch; it’s the official debut of Android XR, Google’s next major computing platform, and it’s an event you absolutely don’t want to sleep on.
How to watch the “Project Moohan” Galaxy Event
Samsung will stream the event live on both the official Samsung Newsroom site and its YouTube channel. Samsung promises that “Project Moohan” will “seamlessly blend everyday utility with immersive new experiences” and open up the “true potential” of mixed-reality devices.
More than just a headset: The Android XR platform
While the “Project Moohan” headset itself will be the star of the show, the real story is the underlying Android XR operating system. This is Google’s new platform, co-developed with Qualcomm and Samsung, specifically designed to power XR, VR, and AR devices like headsets and, eventually, lightweight smart glasses. “Project Moohan” is the first product for this open and scalable platform, so I’m eager to see how Samsung showcases both the headset and new Android XR OS during the event.
What to expect (and how to get a $100 credit)
“Project Moohan” (the Korean word for infinity) is expected to be a goggles-style device directly rivaling the Apple Vision Pro. Rumors and leaks have suggested a premium experience with high-quality displays, advanced tracking, and deep Gemini AI integration. Leaks have also indicated a potential price tag ranging from $1,800 to $2,800.

If you’re already intrigued, Samsung has actually already opened reservations for the headset, offering a $100 credit to be used on your purchase. A quick word of advice, though: if Samsung’s past launch events are anything to go by, this $100 credit is a pre-event-only deal that will likely vanish the moment the livestream begins.
So, if you’re interested, I’d highly suggest heading over to Samsung’s site and putting your name down. It’s a completely free, no-commitment reservation that only requires your name and email. The fine print on the reservation page says you’ll be able to use that credit between October 21st and November 16th, 2025.
