The compact Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 has officially received its first major discount. Launched recently in the US with a steep $849.99 MSRP, the 8.8-inch Android gaming powerhouse is currently available directly from Lenovo’s website for 17% off, bringing the price down to $699.99.

While the original asking price was undeniably steep for an Android tablet, Lenovo equipped this device with a hardware loadout that comfortably handles intensive gaming sessions. Underneath the sleek Eclipse Black chassis, the Gen 5 is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. That processing power is paired with a highly capable 12GB or 16GB of fast LPDDR5T RAM and up to 512GB of onboard UFS 4.1 Pro storage. Recognizing the massive file sizes of modern mobile games, Lenovo also included a MicroSD card slot, allowing you to expand your storage up to 2TB.

Up front, the tablet sports an 8.8-inch 3K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 165Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of peak brightness. For a device that’s purely focused on gaming, these are solid specs that will deliver fluid, responsive, and vibrant gameplay. To keep the internal silicon running at peak performance without thermal throttling, the tablet uses an advanced vapor-chamber cooling system.

Powering the entire experience is a massive 9,000mAh battery, and this device supports 68W fast charging with bypass charging. This allows you to run the device directly from wall power during long play sessions, powering the internals without constantly cycling and degrading the battery cell over time. You also get dual USB-C ports—including one that supports DisplayPort out for external monitors—along with dual Dolby Atmos speakers, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and Android 16 right out of the box.

Lenovo is also including the 68W charging adapter and a folio case in the box, which is a nice touch at this price point. If you have the budget for the absolute latest mobile gaming hardware, the Gen 5 is definitely one to consider at this newly discounted $699.99 price point.
