If you’re a flexible traveler, you know the dance. You have a general idea of when you want to go and what you want to do, but your main goal is finding a great deal. This usually means spending hours on Google Flights, endlessly tweaking dates, changing destinations, and playing with filters to uncover that perfect, affordable trip.

Well, Google is now aiming to do all that heavy lifting for you. Today, the company is introducing Flight Deals, a new, AI-powered search tool within Google Flights designed specifically for travelers whose number one goal is saving money.

Just describe your perfect trip

The magic of Flight Deals is that it shifts the search process from clicking filters to just describing what you want. Instead of manually entering all your parameters, you can now talk to it like a friend and let the AI take care of the rest. For example, you can search for things like:

  • week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only
  • 10 day ski trip to a world-class resort with fresh powder

Google’s advanced AI will understand the nuances of what you’re looking for, tap into its real-time flight data, and show you the best bargains available that match your search. It will even include destinations you may not have previously considered, opening up a world of new, affordable travel possibilities.

The classic Google Flights is here to stay

For all the power users out there, don’t worry: this new, simpler search experience isn’t replacing the classic Google Flights interface we all know and love. Google has made it clear that the original Flights is here to stay. In fact, it’s also getting better, with a new option to exclude basic economy fares for trips in the U.S. and Canada.

How to try it

Flight Deals is launching in beta and will be rolling out over the next week in the U.S., Canada, and India, with no special opt-in required. You’ll be able to try it out by heading straight to the Flight Deals page or by finding it in the top-left menu on the main Google Flights website. This is a fantastic new tool for deal-seekers and another great example of Google using its AI to make a complex task feel simple and intuitive.
