Duskwood, a phone detective thriller finally releases highly anticipated season 5

July 21, 2020 By Michael Perrigo Leave a Comment

Everbyte, creators of the popular detective thriller that sees you using a simulated phone interface, just announced the release of their next season. It’s funny, I’m partly writing this post for you, the audience, but I’m also writing it for my girlfriend who keeps asking me when the next season would be released since she’s become obsessed with it after I introduced her last month.

The Season 5 trailer sees a lot of exciting plot points that I refuse to ruin for you as the game is just that good. You can watch the trailer below though, if you’re okay with potential spoilers. Duskwood is a modern detective game in which the player is trying to crack a mysterious kidnapping case. With the help of a messenger and other multimedia content, such as voice messages, pictures and video chats, the player is on a quest to find the kidnapper. As a result, you becomes a target yourself.

In between chat and multimedia messages, which include scary video clips and actual simulated phone calls, you try to crack the kidnapping victim’s cloud storage by doing matching puzzles for the mysterious contact who asks you to investigate. While this type of gameplay isn’t usually for everyone, the simulated social aspect and storytelling really bring purpose to the matching mechanics and makes for a game which I think everyone should try. Seriously, just give it a quick go and you’ll be roped in in the first sixty seconds, I bet.

Season 5 is available now on Android and iOS, so go play and let us know your thoughts! Please make sure not to post spoilers as this is the type of game that has one story and is very linear. Remember, Thanos has your silence.
