In the past, YouTube has offered a free month of Premium to anyone who refers a friend, and now, it’s at it again. Today, I woke up to the following image in the YouTube app on Android. As a limited-time offer (again), you can get up to 12 months of free Premium by inviting up to 12 friends. To clarify, that’s one free month of Premium for you for each of your friends who fully sign up using a special referral code that you’re given.
Get up to 12 months of Premium
Invite a friend to try 3 months of Premium for a special discount. When they sign up with your unique link, your next month is free of charge!
By tapping the blue ‘Invite Now’ button, you’ll be taken to a screen that has said invite link, along with a copy to clipboard button and a share link. Additionally, you can see your rewards activity and all of the offer’s terms and conditions. Each free month you claim – up to 12 months and no higher – will be applied to the next billing cycle!
If you don’t get the splash screen for this, you could simply run across the promotional image in a featured section of your YouTube video feed. This is only a feature that’s appearing for existing Premium members.
As with all freebies, this deal is limited to anyone who has not yet or ever claimed a free trial of YouTube Premium. That means you should be sharing this with friends and family members who may have accounts, but who you’re certain have never paid Google to get rid of ads on videos. We all have that family member who watches all of the ads, right?
Maybe you’re that family member, and hey, no judgment here. I personally can’t stand to watch ads, but I do understand the appeal of saving money, even if I am terrible at it. Perhaps a loving friend will send their invite link your way. Anyone who claims a free trial of Premium via another’s invite link will get 3 free months of the service, by the way!
