Yes, you can still manage your Logitech Unifying Receiver on your Chromebook

For years, those of us who use Logitech mice and keyboards with our Chromebooks have relied on the trusty Logitech Unifying Receiver Chrome App. It was a simple utility that let you pair, un-pair, and manage the devices connected to your Logi dongle. But with the somewhat-recent deprecation of Chrome Apps, that tool is no longer a thing.

So when I found myself needing to pair a new Logitech mouse to an existing Unifying Receiver using only my Chromebook, I was stuck. For a moment, I almost admitted defeat and considered digging out a Windows laptop just for this one task. But on a whim, I searched for a “Logitech web pairing tool,” and to my absolute delight, it actually exists.

Meet the Logi Web Connect tool

If you’ve been in a similar situation, allow me to introduce you to the new app to use for all connected Logitech accessories: logiwebconnect.com. This simple, no-frills website is the modern, web-based replacement for the old Chrome App.

The process is incredibly straightforward. You just plug in your Logitech Unifying or Logi Bolt receiver, visit the site, and follow the on-screen prompts to put your mouse or keyboard into pairing mode. From the tool, you can see all your connected devices, add new ones, and remove old ones. It’s a clean, simple, and effective solution.

And yes, it’s a PWA

The best part? This isn’t just a website; it’s a full-fledged Progressive Web App (PWA). When you visit the site, you’ll see the familiar install icon in your URL bar. With one click, you can install the Logi Web Connect tool as a lightweight, standalone app on your Chromebook. It will live in your app launcher just like any other app, ready to go the next time you need to manage your devices.

This is a fantastic and modern solution to a problem that I know has frustrated many Chromebook users. It’s a perfect example of the power of the open web and PWAs to solve problems in a clean, platform-agnostic way. If you use any Logitech peripherals with a dongle, I highly recommend you go install this PWA right now.
