This new UGreen tracker is the ultra-thin Google Find My wallet tracker I’ve been waiting for

A few years ago for Christmas, my wife bought me a set of Tile trackers. It was a great gift, as I’m notorious for misplacing my keys and wallet, and I’ve used them quite frequently. But just the other day, I got the inevitable notification that my wallet tracker’s battery is finally calling it quits.

I’ve been wanting to switch over to Google’s Find My network for a while, but my biggest complaint with my Tile has always been its thickness in my slim wallet, and my initial search for a thinner Find My wallet tracker fell short. Then, as if on cue, a post from our folks over at 9to5Google popped up yesterday about a new, ultra-thin tracker from UGreen, and it looks to be exactly what I’ve been searching for.

UGreen is a brand we all know for power banks and chargers, but their new FineTrack Slim Smart G wallet tracker is what has my attention now. While there are a few credit-card-sized Find My trackers from great brands like Chipolo and Pebblebee, they’ve all seemed to be about the same thickness as the Tile I was looking to replace.

This new UGreen tracker, however, is in a league of its own when it comes to thinness. At just 1.7mm, it’s roughly 20-30% thinner than its main competitors! Even with that impossibly thin design, UGreen is claiming an incredible 5-year battery life and a full IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. To top it all off, it’s competitively priced at around $25, and there’s a coupon on Amazon right now that drops it to just $23.

Now, there is one small downside – this tracker is not rechargeable. This is a bit of a bummer, especially considering that the Apple-compatible version UGreen launched earlier this year is rechargeable. I’d love to see that feature make its way over to the Google version in the future, but this is something you’ll need to consider if you’re thinking about picking up one of these.

But even with that one downside, I’m still completely sold. For me, a non-rechargeable battery that lasts a full five years is a worthy trade-off for a device this impossibly thin. Overall, this looks to be the perfect Google Find My wallet tracker I’ve been waiting for!
