This week on The Chrome Cast podcast, we have an interview episode with Andy Russell. Andy is a Group Product Manager for Education and Family on Chrome OS at Google and has been working on some fun projects that we have been tracking for a while – mainly the new Screencast app that will be available starting with Chrome OS version 103.
We have been tracking this new app for a while and even made a hands-on video with an early beta version that we dug up in the Canary Channel. In addition to chatting about Screencast and how the project came to be, we also talk about an app for education called Cast Moderator that enables both the teachers and the students to wirelessly share their Chromebooks screen to a class display using an access code.
We wrap up the conversation with some recent news that Figma and Google have partnered to bring the popular design tool to classrooms, allowing students to use this collaborative design software for free on their school-provided Chromebook.
