The guys and gals in the Google Pixel department have teamed up with Chromecast to let users showcase their best photos with Chromecast users around the world.
Just in case you hadn’t heard of the feature, Chromecast’s Backdrop allows users to set custom content on their Chromecast-connected devices. Anything from photo albums to news, weather and more can be displayed when your TV isn’t streaming other content.
If you are a Pixel phone user, Google wants to give you the opportunity to share your best photos with Backdrop users everywhere. It’s as simple as sharing your images on Twitter or Instagram and including #teampixel.
If your photo is chosen, the Pixel team will contact you via direct message with more instructions. The team from the Pixel User Community forum have set up a few guidelines to help you along your way.
- Suggested Content: Landscapes, Macro, Nature, Animals, Abstract, Life, Cities, Buildings, Textures
- No people, logos, watermarks or branding
- Landscape orientation works best
- Family friendly: these photos will be seen on millions of devices
So grab your Pixel and start snapping. Your next photo could become world-renowned. For questions or feedback, check out the official Google Pixel Community.
