With the launch of the Pixel 10 series likely just a few weeks away, the leaks are starting to give us a better idea of what to expect beyond just the phones themselves. A new leak today from the reliable @MysteryLupin (via 9to5Google) gives us a potential roadmap for the first-party accessories we could see announced, including new Pixel Buds and some very intriguing new chargers.
New Pixel Buds are on the way
According to the leak, which is presumably based on retail listings, Google is preparing to launch the “Google Pixel Buds 2a”. This follows Google’s pattern of offering an affordable pair of headphones, and it would be a welcome update as the current A-Series dates back to 2021. The new Pixel Buds 2a are expected to come in four colors: Hazel (green), Strawberry (red), Iris (purple), and Fog Light (light blue).
For those who prefer the high-end model, the leak also suggests that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will get a new “Sterling” color, which should be a gray that matches the new Pixel 10 Pro/XL. Hopefully, as we saw with the original Pixel Buds Pro, this new color could launch alongside a Feature Drop-level update that makes Gemini on the headphones even more capable.
New chargers, including a possible Pixel Stand 3
The leak also points to two new charging accessories that have us very intrigued. The first is the “Google Pixel Charger” in a color called “Rock Candy” (white). Based on the name, the speculation is that this could be a simple charging puck, similar in function to Apple’s MagSafe Charger.
More exciting, however, is the listing for a “Google Pixel Wireless Charger.” The name suggests this could be a true successor to the Pixel Stand, perhaps a Pixel Stand 3, rather than other previously leaked chargers with different names.
The leak also provided some additional confirmation on storage and color options for the upcoming phones. Of note is the possibility that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold might be available in a 1 TB model. That foldable is expected to come in Moonstone (gray) and Jade (dark green). The leak details the rest of the lineup as follows:
- Pixel 10: 128GB and 256GB in Black/Obsidian, Blue/Frost, Purple/Indigo, and Yellow/Lemongrass.
- Pixel 10 Pro: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
- Pixel 10 Pro XL: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB in Black/Obsidian, Green/Jade, Grey/Moonstone, and White/Porcelain.
Pixel Watch 4 details emerge
This same leak also shed some light on the next-generation Pixel Watch 4. While the watch has yet to extensively leak this cycle, these new details give us a much clearer picture of what to expect.
First, it seems Google is sticking with what works, reportedly offering the Pixel Watch 4 in both Wi-Fi and LTE models and in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. This follows renders from back in April that suggested a mostly unchanged case design, with the lack of charging pins on the underside pointing to a return of wireless charging.
According to the leak, we can expect four main case colors, some of which may be exclusive to a particular size, similar to last year’s release. The leaked case and bundled band combinations are:
- Black case with an Obsidian band
- Gold case with a Lemon (yellow) band
- Silver case with an Iris (purple) band
- Silver case with a Porcelain (beige) band
- Moonstone (gray) case with a matching Moonstone band
Beyond the watch itself, it looks like Google is planning a full color refresh for its existing band styles. While many new colors are expected across the Active, Woven, and Leather bands, the biggest change appears to be a new multi-color style for the Gradient Stretch Bands.
Please keep in mind that all of this info is based on a leak and should be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement. That being said, it paints a picture of a very full hardware launch for the Pixel 10 series. New affordable earbuds and a potential new Pixel Stand in particular would be very welcome additions to the Pixel ecosystem.
