Lenovo officially unveiled the upcoming Legion Tab Gen 5 at MWC in Barcelona last month, but the company has now posted a dedicated landing page for their next compact Android gaming tablet. While we’ve known some of the basic specs since that initial announcement, this new landing page fully details everything you need to know about the upcoming device.

The standout feature of this new iteration is the massive battery capacity. Lenovo somehow managed to pack a 9,000 mAh cell into the 8.8-inch frame, which is a huge upgrade for a tablet of this size and perfect for long gaming sessions. And despite the much larger battery, the entire package weighs just 360 grams, which should make it incredibly easy to use on the go or hold with one hand.

On the front, you are getting an 8.8-inch 3K LCD display with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate that hits up to 600 nits of brightness. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. You can configure it with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It also comes equipped with dual USB-C ports and ships running Android 16 right out of the box, alongside new software additions like Lenovo’s AI Engine+ for improved in-game sound quality, AI-based noise reduction, and adaptive touch sensitivity.

You will be able to pick up the Legion Tab Gen 5 during its wider release in May, with three color options to choose from: Eclipse Black, Glacier White, and a vibrant new Surge colorway.

For those who want to see exactly what is under the hood, here is a look at the official spec sheet straight from Lenovo:

FeatureSpecification
ProcessorSnapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Operating SystemAndroid 16
Display8.8“ 3K PureSight LCD (3040 x 1904), 16:10, 165Hz, up to 600 nits (800 nits High Brightness)
Memory12GB or 16GB LPDDR5T (10667Mbps)
Storage256GB or 512GB UFS 4.1 Pro (Expandable via MicroSD up to 2TB)
Battery9000mAh Li-ion Polymer
AudioDual 2712 superlinear speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual microphones
Cameras50MP Auto-Focus Rear with Flash / 8MP Fixed-Focus Front (78° ultrawide)
ConnectivityWi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0
Ports2x USB-C (1x 10Gbps supporting DisplayPort out, 1x 480Mbps)
Dimensions / Weight128.5mm x 206.46mm × 7.59mm / Starting at 360g (0.79lbs)

It’s also worth noting what comes in the box. Along with the tablet itself, Lenovo is actually throwing in a 68W USB-C charger, a USB-C cable, a microSD tray pin, a quick start guide, and a folio case to keep the device protected.

But all of this premium hardware comes with a rather steep $849 starting price. If you remember, the highly praised Gen 3 model launched with an MSRP of just $549. Obviously, the ongoing “RAMaggedon” supply squeeze we’ve been tracking has probably played a huge part in this price update.

If that $849 price tag is a bit too much to stomach, the older Legion Tab Gen 3 is actually on sale right now for just $399. It has sold out several times in the past, so I highly recommend picking that one up right now if you want a highly capable gaming tablet without the premium price hike.
