Today, Google made good on its promise to reinvest in the Nest ecosystem. The company just unveiled a whole new portfolio of devices built from the ground up for the new Gemini for Home experience, including three new 2K Nest Cams and a Doorbell, and the brand-new Google Home Speaker.
New Nest Cams and Doorbell get a 2K Gemini-powered upgrade

The entire wired camera lineup has received a massive and much-needed hardware refresh. The new Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd gen), and Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen) all now feature 2K HDR video, delivering the best image quality ever on a Nest camera.
On top of the resolution bump, the new cameras also feature wider fields of view and greatly improved low-light performance thanks to new sensors. This upgraded hardware is what unlocks the new, powerful Gemini for Home camera features, including more detailed notifications (like “dog jumps out of playpen”), the ability to search your video history with natural language (“What happened to the vase in the living room?”), and “Home Brief,” which summarizes hours of footage into a quick, digestible summary.

Even better, Google is improving the features that are included right out of the box with no subscription required. All the new cameras now come with six hours of event video history, doubling the three hours offered on the previous generation.
The new Nest Cam Indoor ($99.99), Nest Cam Outdoor ($149.99), and Nest Doorbell ($179.99) are all available for purchase starting today.
The new Google Home Speaker is built for Gemini

Alongside the new cameras, Google also unveiled the new Google Home Speaker, the first audio device designed specifically for the more powerful and conversational Gemini for Home assistant.
The speaker features custom processing for faster, more fluid interactions with Gemini, and a new, expressive light ring that provides visual feedback to show you when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding. It’s designed to deliver balanced, 360-degree audio for room-filling sound.
And in a huge win for home theater fans, Google is finally delivering a long-requested feature: you can now pair two Google Home Speakers with a Google TV Streamer to create a true surround-sound audio setup.
The new Google Home Speaker comes in four new colors (Porcelain, Hazel, Jade, and Berry). However, you’ll have to wait a bit for this one. It’s set to launch in Spring 2026 for $99.
This is a fantastic and much-needed hardware refresh that puts Gemini at the very center of the Google Home experience. It’s a great day for anyone invested in Google’s smart home ecosystem.
