A new Google Meet update will begin rolling out today to select Workspace tiers that will allow you to see who was invited to the meeting but hasn’t joined the call yet. Absent meeting invitees can be found under the “Also invited” heading, which will appear in its own section underneath the list of participants currently on the call. In addition, you will be able to see the RSVP status of everyone invited, including “optional” guests and any RSVP notes added.
The hope is that from this page, you can reach out to those users on the side without disrupting the meeting or losing valuable time wondering if they will actually join. As you can see from the above screenshot, you will also get a small popup reminder about this new feature when your meeting is about to begin. This feature will be available by default for Meet calls with an associated Calendar event to the below workspace tiers:
Available to:
Not available to:- Google Workspace Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, the Teaching & Learning Upgrade, Education Plus, Non profit customers, and legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers
- Google Workspace Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, Individual customers and users with personal Google Accounts
This new feature will undergo an extended rollout of potentially longer than two weeks starting today for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. There will be no admin control for this feature as it will be part of the standard user experience for those that are eligible.
