One of the fun-yet-oft-forgotten privileges of being a Chromebook owner is the inclusion of perks. These little deals specifically made for Chromebook users can run the gambit from free Google Drive space to deals on sweet games like Doom and Doom 2, so the Chromebook Perks page is always worth keeping a keen eye on. While there are a few worthwhile deals in there right now like a few free games from the Play Store (Project High Rise and The House of Da Vinci) and a premium subscription to Clipchamp, by far the most interesting perk on offer is the latest GeForce NOW Founders membership that matches the 3 free months of Stadia Pro.

That’s right, as a Chromebook user you can now try the paid versions of both primary game streaming services for a full 3 months completely for free. While Stadia’s Pro membership comes with some games, there are no free games bundled in with GeForce NOW. However – and this is an important however – GeForce NOW has free-to-play games like Fortnite and Apex Legends that Stadia simply cannot match at this point. For players like me, that is a pretty big deal. I love those games and use GeForce NOW to play quite frequently.

While those of us who already have Stadia Pro or GeForce NOW Founders accounts up and running can’t take advantage of this perk (I already gave it a go), anyone who hasn’t yet dipped a toe in the streaming gaming waters is eligible for both of these fantastic services. As a person who subscribes to both, I’m a pretty big fan of this new perk alongside the existing Stadia Pro perk. Here’s how to redeem it.

How to redeem 3 months of free GeForce NOW

  • Head over to Google’s Chromebook Perks page
  • Scroll down until you see the GeForce NOW tile
  • Click ‘Get Perk’
  • Agree to the terms and conditions
  • Click the ‘Copy’ button to copy your promo code
  • Click the ‘Join Now’ button to be taken to the GeForce NOW sign up page
  • Set up your Founders account and enter the promo code when prompted to redeem

That’s it! Once done, you have 90 days to give GeForce NOW a test drive and can get started on your Chromebook by going to play.geforcenow.com. If you have Steam games you’ve purchased, you can sync those games by adding Steam in your settings under Game Sync. Keep in mind you’ll have to be signed up for GeForce NOW Founders account on a monthly basis ($4.99/mo.) or with the 6-month deal they still have for $24.95 and you need to redeem your promo code within 48 hours of signing up. Additionally, this is a one use per-person, per-Chromebook situation, so there’s no sharing happening, here. With that in mind, go get this sweet perk and have some fun gaming on your Chromebook!
