I’ll be honest with you. I have waited so long for a response from ASUS about if or when we might see another variant of the C302 Chromebook Flip, I had all but given up hope that it would even happen.

To this day, the C302 landing page still taunts a Core m5, 8GB RAM and as much as 128GB storage with no news from the company regarding future availability. Our friends across the pond have seen so many configurations of this device released it’s hard to keep track of all the options.

It now appears that ASUS has heard my cry and the Core m5 model of the C302 will soon be shipping from Amazon. One of our astute readers hit us up on Twitter to share the listing.

Now, this isn’t a beasted out 8GB/128GB model but we are looking at the first Core m5 version to be released in the U.S. All the other specs are identical to that of the Core m3 version that has been available since late January following the unveiling at CES.

Currently, there are a couple of listings on Amazon so be wary if you decide to pull the trigger. The official Amazon listing has the C302 priced at $649. This is a bit disappointing in my opinion. The extra horsepower of the Core m5 is great but that’s a $150 bump from the lesser Core m3 model’s regular price of $499.

Other listings have the ASUS selling for as much as $800. I’m sure there are those that will pay the price to be the first to get their hands on it but that’s a gross number by any stretch of the imagination.

ASUS’ C302 landing page has yet to list the new Core m5 model but hopefully, we will see it updated post haste. If and when an 8GB model becomes available you can bet I will be getting me a new daily driver.

You can check out both ASUS Chromebook C302 models below. The Core m3 is still on sale for $469.
