An email went out late last week confirming some news we already knew: The Play Store is coming very soon.
While we’ve known this for a bit of time and talked about it quite a bit around here, this particular alert was especially encouraging as it was an email straight from Google directly to developers.
Again, this isn’t anything we didn’t know, but it serves as a strong confirmation that the Play Store on Chrome OS project is moving along smoothly. Sometimes announcements of new services and features don’t show up when originally promised or are not spoken of after the initial announcement.
For instance, we had a vague date concerning the arrival of Android Apps on the Dev Channel and all got a bit antsy when the three devices slated to get the feature didn’t see it right away. With no real word from Google about the deployment at the time, it felt a bit unnerving as we waited patiently.
This time around, we are seeing some assuring and official communication from Google, and that much makes us all feel a bit more excited as we wait for the promised September launch of the Play Store on Chrome OS.
September can’t get here soon enough!
