Streaming service bundles have become the norm over the past couple of years, but YouTube and NBCUniversal are taking things a step further with a major perk for YouTube Premium subscribers.
According to an announcement on the YouTube Blog, YouTube is expanding its NBCUniversal partnership to bundle ad-supported Peacock Premium directly into YouTube Premium memberships at no extra cost in the U.S.
What’s included in the bundle
If you are an active YouTube Premium subscriber, you won’t just get your usual ad-free YouTube videos, background play, offline downloads, and YouTube Music access; you’ll soon unlock Peacock’s full catalog as well.
That gives subscribers access to NBCUniversal’s slate of live sports (including NFL games and NBA coverage), blockbuster Universal films, and popular original series like Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, and Law & Order: SVU.
Google also noted that it will offer flexibility for members who want to upgrade beyond the base tier, including tiers to upgrade to Peacock’s ad-free tier or select international bundle options for users outside the U.S. As part of the broader deal, select live NBCUniversal sporting events will also stream for free on NBC Sports’ YouTube channel.
Who gets access?
It’s important to note that this perk will be reserved for full YouTube Premium subscribers. If you are subscribed to the cheaper, music-less YouTube Premium Lite tier, you won’t be eligible for the Peacock integration.
While Google hasn’t specified an exact arrival date yet (they are promising official launch dates and details in “the coming months”), this is a massive added-value perk for existing members, especially following recent price adjustments across streaming platforms.
