Google adds additional features to Workspace on Android to improve the experience on tablets

As a way to keep up with its goal of giving users a great experience on devices with big screens, Google Workspace on Android is releasing a few updates to give its users more ways to work with, show, and organize content.

One of these is an out-of-office banner displayed on the person’s information card in Google Voice, Calendar, Gmail, or Chat on Android, if the coworker isn’t in the office. Additionally, on this banner, you will be able to see the person’s expected return date/time.

Google is also making the Workspace on Android experience better by adding “Link previews” in Google Sheets. This feature lets you get context from linked content without switching between apps and screens. It was made available in Google docs on Android back in 2020 and is already available on the web. Workspace users will start to see this feature gradually roll out starting on October 24 and it may take up to two weeks to reach everyone.

Lastly, Google has added the ability to drag, copy, and share charts and images in cells to the Sheets Android app. This makes it easier to use drag and drop and improves the experience for employees on the go that prefer to use a tablet to get things done while working remotely.

These features are just another stepping stone in Google’s quest and committment to make Android on Tablets a viable way for users to be productive. I, for one, cannot wait until the Pixel Tablet is out so that I can try out all these helpful features on it.
