The upcoming Snapdragon-powered HP Googlebook 14c looks official

As we continue our coverage of the upcoming Googlebook lineup ahead of Google’s expected fall launch event, the puzzle pieces for another major hardware partner have officially locked into place. Joining devices like Dell’s Googlebook XPS 13 ‘Mica’ and Lenovo’s ‘Duet m’ detachable, HP is preparing its own flagship contender for the initial wave of devices running the still-unnamed Aluminium OS.

Originally spotted a year ago in the Chromium Gerrit under the internal development codename ‘Quartz’, recent Geekbench runs, Bluetooth SIG certifications, and accidental listings on HP’s own official Canada portal have confirmed the retail identity of this device: the HP Googlebook 14c.

The ‘Bluey’ Baseboard & Early Gerrit Finds

In the Chromium Gerrit, ‘Quartz’ was identified as one of the primary derivative boards built on Qualcomm’s “Bluey” baseboard family (alongside Dell’s ‘Mica’ and the ‘Quenbi’ reference design). Early code commits established that ‘Quartz’ was engineered strictly around Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon X Elite platform.

Geekbench Benchmark Discovery

In May and June, benchmark entries for an “HP Googlebook 14 inch” surfaced on Geekbench. The software thumbprints confirmed a 12-core Qualcomm architecture with 4 cores running up to 3.42 GHz and 8 cores at 4.01 GHz – a clock layout that aligns perfectly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-80-100) processor.

The benchmark also confirmed 32GB of RAM and an active Android 17 desktop build. On Geekbench 6, it posted single-core scores around 1,896 and multi-core scores of 9,272, comfortably outperforming mid-range x86 chips like Intel’s Core Ultra 5 115U.

Confirmation of the “14c” model designation arrived when GbookHub discovered two distinct retail SKUs published on an official HP Canada warranty purchase page:

• HP Googlebook 14c-cf0010ca
• HP Googlebook 14c-cf0000ca

Following HP’s traditional Chromebook numbering scheme, cf0000 likely represents the base retail SKU while cf0010 marks a higher-tier memory or storage option.

Bluetooth SIG Certification

Most recently, a regulatory entry filed by HP Inc. appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database under the product name “HP 14 inch Aluminium Premium Book” and Regulatory Model Number TPN-H111. Historically, HP assigns the TPN-H prefix specifically to Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered hardware (such as the HP Chromebook x2 11 and HP OmniPad 12), further solidifying the connection.

Just like we’re seeing with every other Googlebook on the near horizon, this HP Googlebook 14c looks like it will be an absolute beast. I can’t think of any hardware launch I’ve ever seen with such a coordinated, high-end blast of devices all at once; and it all makes me incredibly excited to see what all of these new Googlebook feel like to use in hopefully just a few weeks from now.
