Well, well, well; this was a happy surprise to wake up to today. After spending a very long time at a discounted price, the ongoing deal on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus was destined to end at some point. Early in March, after being on sale for nearly the entirety of February, the Galaxy Chromebook Plus jumped back up to its full $699 price.
However, just a couple weeks later, Samsung looks eager to sell more devices once again, and the former $75 off deal is now available to anyone interested in picking up the lightest, thinnest Chromebook Plus on the market.
I’ve been over the superlatives (and the downsides) of this Chromebook many times over, and you can read/watch the review to see it all for yourself; but let me take a moment to go over why this device is so special and why you should consider it while it is discounted for at least the next week or so.
What makes the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus special
There are multiple characteristics that make the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus a standout, and the first thing that hits you when you go to pick it up is the wild combination of thinness and lightness this Chromebook possesses.
At just 2.58 pounds and only 11.8mm thick, this 15.6-inch Chromebook defies what you traditionally expect in a device with this size of screen. It really is a tactile experience you must feel for yourself, and I recommend anyone interested to go to a local Best Buy store and pick one up, hold it in your hands, and experience what Samsung has put together, here.
Next up is clearly the AMOLED screen Samsung opted for in this device. It’s standard 15.6-inch and 16:9, but the colors, brightness and overall quality are top-notch. It’s an absolute treat to work from and while I’d love for it to have a 120Hz refresh rate, there’s simply not much to complain about with this panel.
Inside, the chassis is ultra-rigid, the backlit keyboard is fantastic, the port selection is ample, the trackpad is massive and smooth and the internals (Intel Core 3-100U, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage) are plenty fast for anything I’ve ever thrown at this device. Even the battery life is standout, lasting a solid 10-13 hours with screen brightness of 50%-60%.
And right now, it’s all $75 off! While that might not sound like a huge discount, it brings the asking price of this stellar Chromebook Plus down to just $624.99, and with a device that gets you this much in one package, I think it’s a deal worth considering (and you can read here why we’d recommend getting it directly from Samsung). I’ve loved my time with the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, and I think if you are on the lookout for one of the greatest Chromebook experiences you can buy right now, this is definitely one to consider.
