We were holding off on writing about this game because we wanted to tell you all about it the day you could snag it, but we’re just too excited to wait! The Academy is an upcoming action puzzler game which the developer, Pine Studio, describe as “Professor Layton meets Harry Potter” in the tweet below.

Arbor’s famed Academy has always been a place where brilliance and mystery go hand in hand. Step into the shoes of Sam, a freshman who will soon discover that both greatness and dread are to be found in the ancient halls of the school.

With a little help from your friends, tackle all of the challenges the Academy has to offer and become a part of the story unlike any you’ve played.

The game seems to have some fantastical elements to it including a blood red moon, some holographic or spirit form individuals and enough odd happenings within the school walls that Hogwarts would be jealous. The graphics are very sharp and attractive and it looks like a few years were put into the game in total to make it stand out from the crowd.

With over 200 puzzles and riddles to solve, Arbor’s famed Academy seems to be a place for the brightest of minds who are gifted in solving them. Maybe Professor Layton attended the Academy in an alternate universe! We’re kidding, but we can see this happening somewhere on the internet.

As with any good game, The Academy will have a deep and rich story with a mystery looming over the school that you must unravel. We can’t wait to see what it’s about! Maybe there will be a Voldemort type of character who has an unsolvable puzzle. It sounds ridiculous, of course, but we’re going to have to wait to see how puzzle solving factors into life threatening situations. If we had to guess, the puzzles unlock spells that alter people, places and things when solved, thus introducing the threat.

Pine Studio says there will be plenty of activities as well, which will help the player indulge in the school’s rich lore if they need to take a break from puzzle solving. You can look forward to a colorful cast of friends and foes when the game launches on Google Play and the App Store on June 19, 2020!
