Back in November, A4 Games and Deep Silver released Metro Exodus on Stadia and made it free for Pro subscribers on February 1, 2020. Today, two more Metro games have been announced and will land on Stadia in due time – That’s right, no release date was given aside from ‘later this year’. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux can join your Stadia library soon. The Metro series is a gripping, story-driven first person shooter set within the sprawling Moscow Metro that blends combat, exploration and stealth. If I had to give you a one-liner on the series, having not played them until recently, I would, in my ignorance, say that it can best be described as The Russian version of the Fallout games. Yes… yes, the hardcore Metro fans may crucify me now.

The feature that stood out to me when I initially heard of the Metro series was that the character would wipe his mask to increase visibility in the radiation filled landscape outside of his base. At the time, such a simple thing like this was revolutionary and new to the PS3. The Playstation 2 didn’t have anything like this to my recollection.

The game series is based on the a set of novels by a Russian author named Dmitry Glukhovsky. Both games are remasters of earlier versions and will come bundled with their respective DLC.

I’m very excited about this series, but only since it launched on Stadia. As always, we’ll cover everything Stadia related, so you can be sure to find more about these two games as they get closer to their launch on Stadia right here on Gaming Unboxed. Until then, you can play Metro: Exodus and its two expansions – ‘Sam’s Story’ and ‘The Two Colonels’.

Metro 2033 Redux

All the gameplay improvements and features from the acclaimed sequel Metro: Last Light have been transferred to Metro 2033 Redux – superior AI, controls, animation, weapon handling, and many more – to create a thrilling experience for newcomers and veterans alike. With both sequels (Metro: Last Light and Metro Exodus), the entire trilogy of this genre-defining series will soon be playable on Stadia.

Metro: Last Light Redux

Metro: Last Light Redux is the spectacular sequel to Metro 2033. Players will once again step into the boots of Artyom, and venture forth on an epic adventure through the Metro tunnels beneath Moscow.

Two unique Play-Styles – Spartan and Survival – allow you to experience the game with action-packed shooting or through tense moments where every shot counts. With the legendary ‘Ranger Mode’ and all previously released DLC included, Metro: Last Light Redux is the definitive way to experience this critically acclaimed sequel.
