Nekki announced this week that they are partnering with Banzai to release Spine, a team based PVP cyberpunk action game for PC, consoles and of course, mobile platforms. The only thing we’ve received so far is a short Facebook post and a teaser video which is seen below.
According to the post, the game is set in the near future in which ‘Spine technology’ has become the most powerful influence in combat. It’s apparently an AI interface that connects directly to the user’s spinal cord and enhances their perceptive and reactive abilities when dealing with threats. It also grants the user incredible accuracy and dexterity. Yikes. As cool as that sounds, it also sounds painful. Like, Matrix painful.

The universe’s inhabitants are divided into two warring factions. The combat will range from firearms to blades which sounds like it will offer a fair bit of diversity. I particularly like that it seems like it will have a very urban oriented environment. Definitely my speed, if I’m honest.
Currently in pre-production, development for Spine is looking to ramp up this summer as they add the rest of the team who is currently assigned to wrapping development of their existing project, Shadow Fight Arena back into the fold.
We’ll keep an eye on this for you and report on it again when more information drops!
