Screenshot 2016-08-17 at 7.44.11 PMAs a web designer, SEO (search engine optimization) is something you constantly have in the back of your mind as you build sites, create content and model brands for yourself or your clients. There are a plethora of analytical tools out there which collect data and analyze metrics for your website. It can become burdensome, if not overwhelming, to keep track of the mounds of information from countless sources.

But, if you manage multiple sights or you just want to take a quick look at a site’s metrics, SEOQuake has created an extension to do just that. The extension will give you a very in-depth look at a sites up-to-date analytics from a number of the industry’s most looked-to ranking and metric sources. In addition to Alexa rank, Google index, SEMrush and Bing, you can also see social media presence such as Facebook Likes, Google +1’s, Pinterest Pins and more.

SEOQuake will also give you an instant SEO audit for your site to diagnose issues that may be hurting your page rank. This feature is a definite plus for optimizing SEO results for your page. You can even use the comparison tool to get a very informative side-by-side snapshot of your site next to sites of similar content. All of the search engine results can be exported to .csv format for future comparison.

When enabled you can click the extension in your toolbar to access the multitude of analytical data for the site you are currently viewing. Additionally, SEOQuake provides a toolbar below your bookmarks for each site you visit. You can easily customize the toolbar to see exactly the information you want and nothing you don’t. The toolbar can be disabled for individual sites or completely if you prefer to just use the extension button.

While SEOQuake is not a replacement for analytics that help you target a specific market or curate posting, it is a powerful tool that is fast and easy to use. I am very impressed with the robust features, the friendly UI and the ability to customize to fit my personal needs. Best of all, it’s free. You can pick it up at the Chrome Web Store here.
