Pixel Watch April 2025 update is now available for installation

Following the roll-out of Wear OS 5.1 last month, Google is now pushing out an April 2025 update for its Pixel Watch lineup that includes the Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, and the latest Pixel Watch 3. This update, carrying the build number BP1A.250305.019.W7, appears to be primarily focused on bug fixes, building upon the foundation of Wear OS 5.1 and Android 15 most users have installed already.

Notably, this update aligns all six Pixel Watch models under a single build, resolving the split that occurred during last month’s Wear OS 5.1 release (BP1A.250305.019.W3). While the specific changes are not detailed in an official changelog just yet, Google has previously indicated that this update would address reported issues regarding delayed notifications. It’s important to note that this update maintains the March 5, 2025 security patch level.

For those eager to install the update, users can initiate the download by repeatedly tapping the “Your watch is up to date” screen within the System Updates section of the watch’s settings. To expedite the process, disabling Bluetooth in the Connectivity preferences will force the watch to utilize Wi-Fi for the download. Also, take note that once you get your watch to accept the update, it will want to be on the charger before applying it.

Google’s shift to quarterly Wear OS updates for the Pixel Watch means the next major update is expected in June. However, as demonstrated by this April update, smaller patches can be deployed as needed.
