Good news for iOS users!
A recent update to the developer channel of Chrome shows experimental support that “Adds methods for Cast support to iOS.”
Currently, the Google Cast App is available for iOS. However, it works only with Cast enabled apps such as YouTube, Netflix, Pandora and a handful of others. Casting your screen from an Android device is a native feature of the Google Cast App, meaning support for the Chrome browser is not a necessity.
This addition appears to add casting support directly to Chrome for iOS, which would allow for casting tabs directly from the Chrome browser.
This will surely be a welcome change for iPhone users who also work directly with Chromecast and other Chrome devices on a daily basis.

As reported last week, the Google Cast App will soon be re-branded as the Google Home App. It is unclear at this time if the iOS version will retain the Google Cast name or be integrated with the newer version of the app.
If this feature does become a permanent addition to Chrome for iOS, we could expect to see it rolled out into the stable channel by the end of the year.
