ICYMI: Acer debuted two new Chromeboxes at IFA 2025, too

While the stunning new Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 may have stolen the ChromeOS headlines at IFA Berlin 2025, it wasn’t the only new ChromeOS hardware Acer had to show off. The company also quietly unveiled two versatile and powerful new Chromebox models, offering fantastic new options for a wide range of desktop, business, and education needs.

The Acer Chromebox CXI6 – desktop powerhouse

First up is the Acer Chromebox CXI6, a streamlined yet incredibly powerful desktop solution. This Chromebox can be configured with a range of powerful processors, all the way up to an Intel Core 7 150U, making it a true performance-focused machine.

But its main draw is the absolutely massive selection of ports. The CXI6 includes five USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-C port, and dual HDMI ports, giving it the ability to drive up to four independent monitors simultaneously. Combined with Wi-Fi 6E and a speedy 2.5G LAN port, the CXI6 is the ideal choice for demanding commercial and educational environments, or for anyone who wants a no-compromise, multi-display desktop setup. The Acer Chromebox CXI6 will be available in North America in December, with prices starting at $519.99.

The Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2: silent and compact

For those in more space-constrained or quiet environments, Acer also announced the Chromebox Mini CXM2. As its name implies, this is an ultra-compact device, but its most compelling feature is its completely fanless design, allowing it to run whisper-quiet.

Powered by more efficient Intel processors up to a Core 3 N350, the Chromebox Mini is perfect for everyday performance. And despite its small size, it still packs a fantastic port selection, including five USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-C port, and dual HDMI ports, giving it the ability to support up to three independent monitors.

The Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2 is the perfect choice for quiet offices, libraries, or anyone who wants a silent and tiny desktop computer. It will be available in North America in the first quarter of 2026, starting at $329.99.

Both new Chromeboxes can be VESA mounted to the back of a monitor to save even more space, and both will be available in Enterprise editions. This is a fantastic one-two punch from Acer that brings some powerful and much-needed new options to the Chromebox market.
