Zombie Army 4: Dead War
I’ve already had a lot of fun killing zombies this week in my quest to find that same feeling that Left 4 Dead 2 gave me for hours on end. This game is definitely it. You and three of your friends become soldiers in 1940’s Europe and take on hoards of zombies. No, I take that back. You take on hoards of Nazi zombies! A three part campaign with an interesting story lie in wait for you as well. This game has lots of creative weapons, cool maps and even a slow motion bullet mechanic like Elite Sniper 4 because, well, it was made by the same people.
The Turing Test
This challenging first-person puzzler sees you playing an engineer from the International Space Agency (ISA) named Ava Turing who wakes up from hyper sleep to investigate an issue with a ground research center on Europa, Jupiter’s icy moon. You’ll solve puzzles while being led by an untrustworthy AI to the likes of Portal’s GLaDOS. The game does a good job of presenting you with ethical questions and has a great twist at the end. It’s nice to see a few more casual games hit Stadia for those who aren’t so much into non-stop running and gunning.
SteamWorld Heist
A side scrolling, tactical strategy game where you recruit a ragtag team of steampunk robots and dock other ships to take control of them. It has a western outlaw feel mixed with old timey music and narration and a tad bit of humor. There are 10 characters, lots of abilities, weapons, explosions and you can ricochet your bullets off of your surroundings to perform trick shots.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Pioneer Edition
For most people, PUBG needs no introduction. The game that is now on pretty much every platform and defined the battle royale genre is now on Stadia! It pits 100 players against each other on a massive island to see who is the last one standing. For my first time playing, I spent most of the round on the outskirts of the island trying to outrun the shrinking level only to get my first kill moments before being sniped from another direction. Yeah, I know, I’m a noob. I’ll put more time in here so I can give you all my thoughts in due time.
