Google shows off ‘Pixel Glow’ in new Pixel 11 Pro teaser ahead of August 12 event

Google is dropping more hints ahead of the Made by Google event on August 12, and this time, the Pixel 11 Pro is taking center stage. A fresh promotional video just hit YouTube, giving us our clearest look yet at that mysterious, color-changing light tucked into the camera bar.

Leaning heavily into the “Ask more of your phone” branding that kicked off last year, the new clip is set to an instrumental beat of Nas’s “I Can.” The overall message is pretty clear: if your digital life already revolves around apps like Gmail, Maps, Docs, Gemini, and Drive, you really should be using a Pixel to tie it all together. But the highlight of the video is a head-on shot of the new circular LED—what we think might be called “Pixel Glow”—spinning around like a tiny digital pinwheel.

It looks fantastic, and it gives the back of the phone a fun pop of personality. However, echoing what Robby pointed out recently, I think this tiny camera visor LED light is going to be overshadowed by what Google is doing with the upcoming Googlebook. A massive ‘Glow Bar’ stretching across a premium laptop lid is simply going to grab way more attention than a small circle on a phone. Still, seeing this unified, dynamic lighting design trickle down across the entire hardware ecosystem is a very cool touch!
