Google Search now lets you track flights, check airline miles, and book hotels directly in AI Mode

With the upcoming in-person Googlebook launch event in New York City and a packed travel schedule heading into the fall, logistical planning has been top of mind for me lately. Between comparing flights, juggling airline loyalty programs, and locking down hotel reservations, travel planning usually means keeping a dozen browser tabs open at once.

Google is aiming to streamline that entire headache.

According to a new post on News from Google, three major travel upgrades to AI Mode in Search are now rolling out. You can now track real-time flight prices during a conversation, check flight and hotel costs using your airline miles and hotel reward points, and book hotels directly within AI Mode using Google Pay. Below, you can find a quick breakdown of the new features and how they work in everyday use.

Flight price tracking directly inside your chat

Google Flights’ price tracking feature is one of the most reliable travel tools on the web, and it is now integrated straight into AI Mode.

Instead of jumping over to a dedicated Google Flights tab, you can describe your trip parameters directly in AI Mode. The AI will pull current pricing from more than 300 partner airlines and booking platforms to construct an itinerary.

If you aren’t ready to buy yet and want to wait for a price drop, you can simply tell the AI: “Track these flight prices for me”. Once confirmed, Google will monitor the route and automatically email you if fare prices change. Flight price tracking in AI Mode is rolling out now across more than 180 countries and territories worldwide.

See costs in airline miles and hotel reward points

If you accumulate credit card points, airline miles, or hotel rewards, calculating whether a redemption is worth the cash equivalent usually requires logging into multiple individual loyalty portals.

AI Mode can now calculate and display redemption rates directly in search results. For example, you can ask something like “I want to travel from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles. Help me find some options for nonstop flights departing Oct 9 and returning on Oct 12.”

AI Mode will pull partner data to show you exactly how many miles or points you need for matching flights or hotel rooms, with direct links to the partner sites to finalize your rewards booking.

This points and miles capability is available globally starting today.

Native hotel booking with Google Pay

When you find the right place to stay, you can now complete the entire hotel reservation right inside AI Mode without getting redirected across third-party websites.

After asking AI Mode for recommendations based on your preferences, guest reviews, and pricing, you can simply ask the assistant to help you finish the booking.

Selecting “Continue on Google” next to an integrated partner allows you to choose your room type, review policies, and complete the reservation securely using Google Pay. The hotel or travel platform still serves as the official merchant of record and handles your customer support.

Hotel booking inside AI Mode is actively rolling out in the U.S. in English, launching alongside major partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Marriott International, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Priceline, Trip.com, Hilton, Choice Hotels, and Wyndham.

A more practical way to plan trips

Having these features consolidated directly inside AI Mode in Search turns open-ended research into actionable bookings within a single conversational thread.
