In a very encouraging move, Google has unveiled 8 new videos that serve as solid tutorials for newer Chromebook users.
While not exactly a PR move, these new videos serve as a clear sign that Google is ready for a large influx of new Chromebook users on the backs of two big device releases: The ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 and the Samsung Chromebook Plus/Pro.
We’ve dropped the videos below in the event that you are newer to Chromebooks (thanks for the heads-up go to Chrome Story). Many readers, we’ve found, are constantly in search of quality videos that explain Chromebooks and how to do particular tasks on them. From converting over to Chrome OS to Cloud Printing setups, these videos could be very helpful for those trying to get acquainted with a Chromebook or helping a friend or family member do the same.
Why We Are Encouraged
While we hope the videos help, our encouragement from them is mainly drawn from the fact that Google is focused on Chromebook development and evangelism. With all the differing opinions on Andromeda and a merged Chrome OS/Android effort, it is comforting to see Google put some effort behind a movement that clearly points to a bright future for Chromebooks and Chrome OS.
With the upcoming Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro, it looks like Chromebooks may get some serious PR and time in the sun. Depending on how the reception is over the next few months, we could see other manufacturers follow suit, making bigger PR splashes for new Chromebook releases.
