Less than 48 hours after Apple unveiled their “next big thing” and not even a day after a billboard popped up in Boston, Google has made their Pixel event official.
Vlad Savov, Senior editor of The Verge, broke the news this morning that Google has launched a teaser video and a new landing page on their #madebygoogle domain.
The video, at the top of the page, is clean, simple and to the point. It reflects yesterday’s billboard debut by telling us to “Ask more of your phone.”
This is exciting news and places the event exactly one year after the original Pixel phone launch. Originally, sources rumored the event would take place on October 5th.
So, what does a new Pixel phone mean for us? Not much aside from the fact that the Chrome Unboxed office will soon have some new mobile hardware lying around.
On the other hand, Google’s isn’t a one-trick-pony. Last year’s #madebygoogle event was the platform that launched Google Home, the Pixel phones and Chromecast Ultra as well as multiple software previews.
With that in mind, we will be more than mildly disappointed if Google doesn’t share a new Chromebook Pixel or at least a new third-party device from the stage in October.
