Gemini in Google Slides can now instantly rewrite and reformat your text

In a fantastic new update, Google is making that process a whole lot easier by rolling out a new Gemini-powered text refinement tool directly within Google Slides. This new feature is designed to help you quickly polish the text on your slides, saving you time and improving the clarity of your content with just a few clicks.

Your AI writing assistant, right on the slide

The new feature is incredibly intuitive. When you select a text box in Google Slides, a new “refine” icon will now appear. Clicking this icon opens up a menu of AI-powered tools that can instantly rework your text. The pre-set options include the ability to:

• Rephrase: To find a better way of saying something
• Shorten: To make your points more concise and impactful
• Formalize: To adjust the tone for a more professional audience
• Bulletize: To quickly turn a dense block of text into a clean, easy-to-read bulleted list

On top of these handy presets, you can also enter your own custom prompt to have Gemini refine the text in a more specific way.

This is a huge time-saver for anyone who builds presentations. Instead of manually rewriting sentences or reformatting lists, you can now let Gemini handle the polishing, allowing you to focus on your core ideas and message.

The new feature is part of a gradual roll-out that started on September 1st and is available to most paid Workspace subscribers, Google AI Pro for Education users, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It’s another smart, practical AI integration that makes Google Slides an even better tool for creating compelling presentations.
