Last week, Disney announced their much-anticipated streaming service in Disney+. While the name isn’t the best or most creative thing in the world, make no mistake: this will be a content service to be reckoned with.
When you think about the vast properties under the Disney umbrella, it becomes apparent very quickly that tons of users will quickly flock to Disney+ to get their hands on the treasure trove of great shows. From all the Marvel movies to Star Wars to Disney animation and Pixar, Disney has positioned themselves as a media powerhouse that will easily amass millions of users the day their new streaming service launches.
I have kids and I love all the content that will be available on Disney+ for the paltry $6.99/month, so I was already really excited about the prospect of Disney+ right off the bat. When I heard that they will fully support Chromecast out of the box, I knew that I’d be a day-1 subscriber.
Other great video services like Amazon Prime Videos have held out on adding Chromecast support and it has caused me to consume far less from those services over the past couple years. I enjoy the ease of use and simplicity that Chromecast offers and don’t watch much on the big screen without it.
Knowing that Disney will have Chromecast support immediately makes this great new service sound just about perfect. Added to the growing number of high profile services that are introducing Chromecast support like Apple Music and Amazon Prime Video, my ability to fully rely on the Chromecast for content consumption is about to be fully realized. For content consumers, this fall is about to be a great time to be alive!
