Prime Day has passed but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to score a good deal on a great Chromebook. Best Buy’s inventory seems to have returned to near-normal levels and this weekend, the retailer is offering discounts on three Chromebooks to fit just about every budget. Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly device for the kids or a premium 2-in-1 for the savvy power user, you can save as much as $130 and who doesn’t like saving money?
Lenovo Chromebook 3 (AMD)
When you’re talking $200 or less, there isn’t a device better than Lenovo’s 11.6″ Chromebook 3. The $169 Intel N4020 model I reviewed from Walmart is still my go-to recommendation for people asking for a cheap Chromebook that is actually worth buying. Lenovo recently launched an AMD-powered variant of the Chromebook 3 that’s selling at Best Buy for $199. At that price, I’d still go with the Intel N4020 model from Walmart. However, you can get the AMD model right now for only $149 and that’s a deal worth your time and attention. If you need a device for the kids or just a secondary Chromebook to toss in your bag, this is one of the best options going under $200.
HP Chromebook 14 FullHD
If you’re budget is a little more flexible and you want a larger Chromebook with a Full HD display, HP’s Chromebook 14 is a good option and it comes with the Intel N4000 Celeron processor that will handle daily tasks like a champ. Normally priced at $289, Best Buy has knocked $70 of the 14″ clamshell that will get updates through June of 2026. If you’re spending a lot of time staring at a display, this will be a great option that won’t break the bank. It comes with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 2 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A and a MicroSD card reader. This device is perfect for older K-12 kids or simply a device to use for whatever.
HP Chromebook x360 14c
During last week’s Prime Days, Best Buy had a little sale of its own and the 10th Gen Comet Lake HP x360 14c was discounted down to $499. The sale only lasted two days but it appears that Best Buy has brought back the savings. The premium 2-in-1 convertible features a Full HD display, backlit keyboard, 10th Gen Intel Core i3 CPU and a tasty 8GB of RAM. The Acer Spin 713 is still our top pick of 2020 but the HP is a very close second and when you knock $130 off of the price, it becomes a very easy device to recommend.
Stay tuned for more deals. Holiday shopping in 2020 is all over the place and retailers are looking for unique and competitive ways to make up for the loss of foot traffic. I’m sure that we will see various “Black Friday” and early holiday deals over the next couple of months.
