In an article published by Android Central, John Callaham reports of a critical bug in the firmware updater of some Chromebooks. The bug, original reported on the Chromium Bug Tracker site, is said to impact a few devices during the auto update process.
Devices, with Chrome OS version 49, that are possibly affected include the Lenovo N22 11.6, Acer Chromebook R11, Sanance / Chromebook 14, Asus Chromebook C300SA and ThinkPad 11e Chromebook.
A developer on Chromium’s site stated that automatic updates would be temporarily paused on these devices until the problem is resolved.
