Belkin is an industry leader in mobile accessories. With everything from cases to charging solutions, routers and more, it’s likely you have purchased a Belkin product at some point. The Playa Vista-based company has even expanded into the connected home market with their line of Google Home compatible WeMo IoT devices.

Belkin is expanding their resume of protective cases with the new Snap Shield custom-fit cases for Chromebooks and MacBooks. Geared towards the classroom, Snap Shield provides a slim-fitting, snap-on case for a number of devices that keep the feel of the original device while adding a level of scratch-resistance with minimal installation effort.

The two-piece case snaps on the top and bottom of your device and is custom-fit to maintain access to all the ports on your Chromebook (or MacBook). The Snap Shield case is made from impact-resistant polycarbonate and is designed to minimize additional bulk to your device and keep the original look and feel of the device while providing added protection.

Snap Shield cases also have retractable feet that allow users have adjustable typing angles on their device.

Snap Shield cases are currently “coming soon” for a handful of Chromebook models including the HP Chromebook 11 G5 and G4, Samsung Chromebook 3, Acer C720 and the Lenovo Chromebook N22. For Mac users, cases will be available for the MacBook Air 11″ and 13″.

Added protection for educational devices is a definite plus. I hope these new cases from Belkin are a hit and we might just see them expand to consumer devices such as the ASUS C302 or Acer Chromebook 14. Having a slim case on my Chromebooks when traveling would be a major plus.

You can find out more about Snap Shield cases here. Also, if you happen to be a student, Belkin offers 30% off all of their products when you register and verify your student status. Teachers can save a little this week as well. Belkin is offering 10% off for teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week May 8-12, 2017.
