Today, the early foundation for Chrome Unboxed – the YouTube channel that started it all – hit a milestone 10,000 subscribers today.
For those unaware, Chrome Unboxed began as a YouTube channel nearly 4 years ago. Long story short, I began recording my device unboxings starting with the HP Chromebook 14. It showed up pretty early at a local Walmart, and I picked it up before most people had even seen it.
A bit of advice from a friend led me to take out my Nexus 7 and record a quick video. That video (ignorantly) went on my personal YouTube channel and took off (it currently has 225,000 views). After a few more videos showed the ability to attract viewers, I created a brand, logo and proper YouTube channel around Chrome Unboxed.
4 years later, we are here, reporting on all things Chrome OS. But we haven’t forgotten where we’ve come from and what started it all.
Moves are being made as we speak to take the YouTube channel to another level as we see the arrival of a slew of new devices in the fall this year.
If you haven’t already, subscribe to the channel. We appreciate it. And we look forward to all the ways that we will leverage the channel in the future! If you’ve subscribed already, we say ‘thanks’! Your support both here on the site and on the channel is always appreciated!
So, here’s to the next milestone and all the fun we’ll have on the way there!
