Just hours after we broke the news of the ASUS C302CA being available and in stock on Newegg.com, it looks like the listing has been removed.
We aren’t sure what is going on, exactly.
The order we placed was successful and my credit card has already been charged. In a chat with Newegg, I confirmed my order and that it will be shipping soon.
You can see in the chat below that they are claiming it is simply “unavailable” now. Upon further questioning, I just got the same answer again. The inventory is kept real-time and the device is no longer available on the site.
This seems like a very odd way to handle inventory and I have to wonder if the listing had some issues that needed to be amended, such as the lack of the word Chromebook anywhere in the title.
While it does make me a little curious as to what exactly is going to show up on my porch in a couple days, I feel relatively confident that we may have snagged one of these units a bit prematurely.
And all that means for all of you is a look at this Chromebook before we all expected it.
As we said in the previous article, we’ll keep you posted.
