Unveiled earlier this month at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, the Acer Chromebook 11 N7 isn’t your run-of-the-mill rugged Chrome device. Aside from compliance with MIL-STD 810G military durability tests, the 11.6″ Braswell-powered Chromebook is one of very few that is being marketed and sold to the education and consumer markets simultaneously.
Internally the Acer N7 is par for the course as far as educational models go. Here’s some of the key specs.
- Intel Braswell N3060 1.6GHz
- 4GB RAM
- 16GB or 32GB onboard storage
- 1366×768 IPS Display Touch or Non-touch
- 180° fold-flat hinge
- 2 x USB 3.0
- HDMI port
- SD card reader
- 2.98lbs
Keeping right on schedule with their official press release, it appears a number of retail sites are listing the Acer N7 for pre-order. The sites don’t offer much detail but based on the ballpark price of $240 this is most likely the entry-level non-touch with 16GB of storage.
As we’ve seen repeatedly, the internals of this Chromebook are more than enough to handle casual to moderate computing. Combined with the above-average durability and reasonably low price, this Chromebook is a great fit for students and families alike.
You can preorder one today at any of the retailers below.
