The Acer Chromebook 14 was a surprise 2016 hit for us here at Chrome Unboxed. With its initial release in April, it wasn’t the most impressive device on the market.
A few months and a new gold shell made us give this Chromebook another look, and we’re so glad we did.
You can check out our full review right here, but what stands out about Acer’s all-aluminum Chromebook 14 is its price vs. quality.
This Chromebook, especially in gold, exudes beauty and quality. As perhaps our favorite Chromebook of 2016, this laptop still has plenty of appeal. Thin and light with a great screen and size, the Chromebook 14 has all the parts you want. Aluminum build, full HD screen, great keyboard, smooth trackpad, and an aesthetic that is very easy on the eyes.
Though I wish the processor options came with more high-powered options, the 3160 Intel Braswell does quite well with normal, day-to-day usage.
With all that going for it, this Chromebook was already a steal at $299. Amazon, however, has knocked $30 off the price, making this a crazy-good deal!
And the best part? The gold model is only $2 more. Thus far, this has never happened. When going on sale before, only the standard aluminum color has been included.
There’s no word on how long this will last, so if you are in the market for a great device at a ridiculous price, I’d pull the trigger on this one quickly.
