Google is kicking off the new year with a significant incentive for cord-cutters who have yet to pull the trigger on its live TV streaming service. YouTube TV has just launched a fresh promotion that significantly lowers the barrier to entry, offering both an extended trial period and a deep discount on the monthly subscription fee for the first two months.

The new offer increases the standard 7-day free trial to a full 10 days. While an extra three days might seem minor, it provides a much-needed buffer for users to fully explore the interface, set up their DVR, and test the service across multiple devices before the first bill arrives.

Significant savings for a limited time

The real draw of this promotion is the introductory pricing. For the first two months of service, new subscribers will pay just $59.99 per month. Given that the current standard rate for the YouTube TV Base Plan sits at $82.99, this represents a monthly savings of $23. Over the initial sixty-day period, that’s nearly $50 back in your pocket.

It is worth noting that once that two-month promotional window closes, the price will automatically revert to the then-current standard rate. As of now, that is the aforementioned $82.99, though Google’s terms always include the caveat that pricing is subject to change.

This push comes at an interesting time for the platform. We are expecting 2026 to be a big year for YouTube TV, with reports already circulating that Google plans to roll out more granular, genre-specific plans (like a dedicated Sports Plan) later this year. This $59.99 “on-ramp” is a classic move to widen the funnel and get users into the ecosystem before those more flexible packaging options arrive.

The fine print and deadline

As is typical with these types of acquisition offers, this deal is strictly for new subscribers. If your Google account has previously held a YouTube TV subscription or even a trial, you likely won’t see this offer appear when you sign in.

For those looking to time their switch from traditional cable or a competing service like Hulu + Live TV or Fubo, this window is open through March 17, 2026. This gives you plenty of time to consider the move, perhaps even timing the trial to coincide with the busy spring sports season.
