Walmart is expanding their presence in the third-party Google Home ecosystem, yet again. Just a short time after releasing the budget-friendly $35 Onn Outdoor Camera, the retailer has officially launched a more robust option for those who want some extra security. The new Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera (hardwired) is available right now for just $77.
While the price tag is entry-level, the hardware specifications tell a much more capable story. The camera itself features a solid 1080p resolution and a wide 130.5-degree field of view. It includes built-in night vision and carries an IP65 weather resistance rating, ensuring the unit can easily handle the elements.
The most impressive hardware feature is the floodlight itself. Walmart has equipped this hardwired unit with 2,500 lumens of fully adjustable brightness, making this actually brighter than Google’s own first-party Nest Cam with Floodlight, which is 2,400 lumens.
Beyond the physical hardware, this new Onn camera is part of the “Gemini built-in” program, meaning Walmart designed the hardware specifically around a solution built directly by Google. Because of this partnership, the Onn Floodlight Camera receives the exact same deep Google Home integration you would expect from a first-party Nest device.
Out of the box, users get three hours of cloud video recording completely for free. For those wanting to unlock the full potential, it fully supports the new Google Home Premium plans, granting access to custom visual event-based alerts and the ability to ask Gemini about your recorded video history using natural language.
When you compare the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired directly to Google’s own hardware, the value proposition is incredibly hard to ignore. Google’s Nest Cam with floodlight offers the same 1080p resolution and a similar field of view, but carries a steep retail price of $279.99. Priced at just $77, this wired camera and floodlight combo is an absolute steal for anyone looking to expand their Google Home security setup without breaking the bank.
