It’s been an interesting debut for the new Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514. We saw it leak at Best Buy a couple weeks back (that listing was promptly pulled down), only to be officially announced at IFA Berlin 2025 this week as we were lucky enough to get to unbox it on video. Now that the news is fully out there, things have come full circle and the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra-powered convertible is now back on Best Buy’s website.
While the “Add to Cart” button isn’t active just yet (it’s currently listed as “Coming Soon”), the full, official listing is live, and it gives us a complete and confirmed look at all the specs for the $699.99 model that will be hitting store shelves soon.
All the best features confirmed
We were incredibly impressed with this device in our hands-on unboxing, and the official listing confirms that all the best features we saw are indeed part of the final package. Most importantly for me, the listing confirms that the keyboard is, in fact, backlit, a feature that was glitching on our pre-production unit but one I felt sure was definitely supposed to be there. Here’s a quick rundown of the impressive specs you’ll get for that $699.99 price tag:
- Processor: MediaTek Kompanio Ultra
- RAM: 12GB LPDDR5X RAM
- Storage: 256GB UFS storage
- Screen: 14-inch 16:10 WUXGA (1920×1200) IPS touchscreen
- Refresh Rate: 120Hz
- Camera: 5MP webcam
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7 and a great port selection (2x USB-C, 2x USB-A)
This is an absolutely stacked spec sheet for a Chromebook Plus, and it makes the Spin 514 a fantastic and versatile competitor to the other Kompanio Ultra-powered device on the market, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14.
With the official product page now live, it’s a safe bet that the “Coming Soon” status will be changing in the very near future. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it and will let you know the second it’s available to buy. And once we have a production-ready unit available, we’ll have a full review for it out, too.
