Snag Walmart’s Onn Google TV streamer for under $13 right now

Walmart’s lineup of Onn-branded Google TV devices have always offered impressive value, from the capable $20 4K box to the beefier “Pro” model. But the absolute cheapest entry point is the simple 1080p HD Streaming Stick, already an impulse buy at its usual $15 price tag. Right now, though, Walmart has slashed the price even further, dropping it to an almost unbelievable $12.97. While maybe prompted by a new model potentially on the horizon, this discount makes an already cheap device even more tempting!

Let’s be honest: a $13 streaming stick isn’t going to blow anyone away with its performance. It will be perfectly fine for basic 1080p streaming, but speed isn’t its strong suit (it packs just 1.5GB of RAM). But the interesting thing about this particular deal is that it gives you an incredibly cheap solution to the common problem of needing a spare or replacement Google TV remote. The Onn remote uses Google’s reference design (G10) and standard Bluetooth pairing protocols, which means you can typically pair it with other devices like the Chromecast with Google TV (both 4K and HD models), other Onn models, or TVs with Google TV built-in (from brands like Sony, TCL, Hisense, etc.). You usually put the remote in pairing mode (often by holding Home + Back) and select it from the accessory pairing menu on the target device.

Considering official remotes cost around $20 and reliable third-party options aren’t much cheaper, getting a trustworthy remote plus a functional 1080p streaming stick for just $13 is exceptional value. It effectively turns the streamer into a free bonus alongside a discounted remote.

Beyond just the remote hack, the rock-bottom price makes this a super easy purchase if you maybe want to add Google TV smarts to secondary TVs or just want a backup device. For anyone already invested in the Google TV ecosystem, it’s an extremely affordable way to expand your setup, potentially capitalizing on what might be limited-time clearance pricing.

With this standard Full HD streamer stick, you get the full Google TV interface, Chromecast built-in for easy casting, Google Assistant voice control via the remote mic, and access to all your usual streaming apps like Netflix, Max, Disney+, and more. Setup is simple via HDMI, and the box includes the stick, remote, AAA batteries, HDMI cable, and power adapter – everything you need to get going.

While the performance is basic, you’re still getting some very usable tech for about what a standard fast-food combo meal costs these days. Ultimately, getting both a usable Google TV streamer and spare remote for only $12.97 represents unbeatable value that’s tough to pass up.
