Google recently announced the addition of another educational Chromebook, the HP X360 11 G1. Along with the Acer Spin and ASUS C213, these devices are the next generation of rugged, classroom Chromebooks.

We now have details on the full specifications of the HP X360 and this Chromebook is offering some powerful options.

The HP officially joins the Apollo Lake-based line-up of convertibles and, like the Acer and ASUS, offer a new, world-facing camera on the keyboard side of the Chromebook. When in tablet mode, the Chromebooks secondary camera can be used as a microscope or for other applications and the 11.6″ display will act as a viewfinder.

What’s really interesting are the storage and RAM options for this new model. Paired with an Intel Apollo Lake chipset (N3350 or N3450), the HP X360 starts of with 4GB RAM and 32GB of eMMC internal storage. From there you can upgrade to 8GB/64GB making this a very unique and likely powerful Chromebook.

The Acer Spin and ASUS C213 are being advertised as “stylus included.” The HP, however, lists an optional battery-free Wacom EMR pen.

The HP X360 also offer all the ruggedized features we’ve come to expect from these devices. Corning Gorilla Glass, industrial rubber shell and a spill-resistant keyboard make this Chromebook on tough mudder.

Here’s the full list of what the HP Chromebook X360 has to offer.

HP hasn’t announced and official release date for the X360 but likely we can expect it to roll out in late April with the other education model. While no pricing information is available, a reliable source has informed us to expect the entry level device to start in the low $300 range.
