In late August, Dell and Google got together to debut the all-new “chrome enterprise” platform that offers business-centric Chrome OS devices to companies with support for goodies such as built-in management licenses and software to aid in the integration of cloud services. Since then, the Chrome for Enterprise website has added a number of existing devices to the group of eligible devices. These include some of our favorite Chromebooks like the Pixelbook, Acer Chromebook Spin 13 and ASUS Flip C434.
Today, HP has jumped on the bandwagon with three slightly enhanced versions of models already on the market. The devices will be included in HP’s DaaS(Device as a Service) platform that helps enterprise clients implement multi-OS deployments across company infrastructures. As part of the Chrome Entrerprise program, the new HP devices will enjoy the benefits of Admin Console management out of the box as well as the 24/7 IT support that comes with the program.
Here’s a closer look at HP’s Chrome Enterprise devices.
HP Chromebook Enterprise x360 14E G1
Leading the pack is the enterprise version of the wildly popular HP Chromebook x360 14. HP has nixed the ceramic-like white lid and blue deck for a more professional brushed silver finish but the Enterprise x360 14E G1 looks to be nearly identical to its consumer sibling. That is, until you take a look under the hood.
Five processor options are available for the x360 enterprise Chromebook. These include two Pentium versions as well as 8th gen Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors from Intel. This will be a welcome additon to the family for companies wanting to leverage Linux on Chrome OS. Throw in the available 16GB of RAM and the HP x360 14E will be a powerhouse for developers.
